Happy New Year! A simple photograph can trigger a whole world of emotions, experiences, memories, and flashbacks. In 2023, every day will feature a photograph either from the past, present, or future. These photographs will trigger a starting point for a blog post that can go in any direction I want to allow for maximum creativity.
Starting the year off is a photograph from my preschool graduation. Clearly I was in one of my moods that day. Ironically enough somehow I would end up becoming a teacher despite not liking school at a young age. Not sure how many people feel this way, but I personally don’t remember anything that happened in my life prior to kindergarden.
Perhaps that look in the picture would foreshadow my eventual mood as a teacher. I try to maintain the most neutral/angry look as often as possible in front of the students, to always appear calm whenever they start acting like fools.
In the end I do believe early schooling paved a gravel road of success for me, even though I struggled at school all the way up to elementary school. I believe our world will be a much better place if all kids are given education and schooling at a younger age, when their development needs it the most.
I love this project as I love photography. I look forward to seeing the pictures throughout the year. A friend shared an old photo with me today. It was when I was in middle school and played softball. Definitely a goofy pic of me. Happy New Year! Wishing you and your family all the best!
