At UCSD, I joined an organization in my sophomore year that I later would become part of the “exec-board” for, ICRA.
The UCSD Inter-College Resident’s Association (ICRA) is a student-led organization that serves as the governing body for the seven residential colleges at the University of California, San Diego. The organization aims to promote community building, leadership development, and advocacy for the students within the residential colleges.
One of the main things we did during our meetings was fullfill fundraising requests, where other organizations would basically come and ask for money. In addition, we helped planned many fun events on campus that would attempt to bring out people from all of the 6 colleges at UCSD. I remember planning a Knott’s Berry Farm trip, a week-long event filled with Harry Potter events that eventually resulted in a free movie screening of the 7th movie, and some hilarious res-council dinners hosted by Bijan.

In the end, it was best to not take things too seriously in the club, and it resulted in a lot of good memories. I still have the light blue jacket to this day even if I never wear it.
