These remarkable individuals played an indelible role in shaping my memories at UCSD, making them truly unforgettable. Although time and distance have separated me from many people in San Diego, I am grateful to still be in touch with several of them, thanks to their kind-heartedness and genuine connections.
Bijan stands out for his ability to bring a sense of comic relief to previous res-council dinners and group hangouts. He consistently exuded a calm and laid-back demeanor during my our time together as officers of the Inter-College Residents’ Association. I’ll never forget the time he tried his best to console me after a heart-wrenching breakup in college, even though it was an awkward moment in the middle of a Tzu-Ching meeting.
Henry, the one who graduated a year early, embodied the valuable life lessons learned from “How I Met Your Mother.” He was not only my frugal buddy, always up for scoring free food during our college years, but he also made it a point to catch up whenever he visited from Texas, displaying his sensible and down-to-earth nature. May he forever continue to open up dental practices all over Texas.
Jessica’s unwavering determination to pursue her dream of attending medical school was truly inspiring. She was always one of the most social individuals in our group, effortlessly engaging in conversations with everyone she encountered. Over the years, I witnessed her journey through various relationships, as she gracefully navigated the path from one boyfriend to another. I’m happy she’s engaged and am looking forward to her wedding.
Lastly, there was Louise, whose calm demeanor and genuinely chill personality made her a joy to be around. Like Henry, she was another frugal buddy who always made it easy to have conversations with. Even after college, we managed to stay connected virtually for many years. I hope her adventures in DC continue to be amazing, as she embarks on new experiences and creates lasting memories.
Knowing these incredible individuals has undoubtedly changed me in profound ways, and I eagerly look forward to reconnecting with them in the near future.
