Congratulations to Thomas Trinh, my nephew, for graduating from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in engineering of some sort.
I knew Thomas since he was a young kid, and he was always the least strange member of his family. It was interesting that he was so musically talented over the years, opting to perform some old music at his school’s talent show. (I told him to do a crowd pleaser like Panic at the Disco’s High hopes but he didn’t listen). And that’s why he lost. I enjoyed his “Sad Songs” playlist on Spotify, which was great to listen to after any breakup.
Every Christmas I would usually take him out to the movies. This tradition eventually died when he became an adult. Still, we’ll continue to go to Phil’s BBQ in the future, like that one time where we went and he forgot to close his gas tank, driving all the way to Temecula with it open. Craziness.
I am hopeful for his success in the future, even if his company (Edison) does unsafe practices like not repairing their electrical poles in the event of a storm. Here’s hoping he has a happy and amazing rest of his life now that he is done with college.
