Junior Year was nice, in that there were many successes and failures. The successes lied in improvement of socialization abilities through me being President of the Volunteers of Orange (VOC). The failures lied in rejection and heartbreak after an extensive crush/obsession.

VOC clearly boosted up my self esteem and made me who I am today. You can click on each of the following links to see an exclusive on how each community service event went that year:

  1. Discovery Science Center
  2. Mile Square Regional Park Public Lands Day
  3. St. Polycarp
  4. Auxiliary
On February 24th, the storage trailer behind our store was completely emptied, cleaned out, and reorganized by John Tran and a fantastic group of volunteers. This was a very dirty job, but these kids got in there, rolled up their sleeves and got the job done. The amount of work that a small group can get done in a short amount of time is amazing. We sure do appreciate their efforts.
  5. Basic Needs
  6. OC Food Bank
  7. Mile Square Acquired Brain Injury Day
  8. MS Walk
  9. Aids Walk
  10. Beach Cleanup
  11. Muckenthaler Center

I was also in Choir this year, so things were going quite well. I also got a solo, for choir specifically! It was for a musical performance called Guys and Dolls, and although I didn’t have the voice, I loved being a choir (despite the one time that a Mexican stole some people’s monies, and the police searched everyone in our class to try to find out who stole it). I think it’s the reason why I enjoyed the television show “Glee” so much afterwards. I think I only got the solo because the class was 6th period, and I was one of the only few students that didn’t ditch.

This was also the year I got a ton of free stuff – Ipods, Nesquik t-shirts, lots of things. Mastering the power of the Internet helped eventually translated into eventually getting other free stuff later in life (such as an XBOX, PS4, and a ton of Amazon Gift Cards). I got a free Donnie Darko DVD as well, which became of my favorite movies that year because of its sense of mystery and suspense.

As the year of APUSH, Ap Bio, Blandford for English, among other things… I enjoyed my teachers for what they were. Bunnell did her best teaching APUSH for the first year, Lambert was kind of boring, and Blandford won our hearts. It was up to me to continue creating study guides to ensure the continued success of my fellow peers.

I didn’t do very well on the SAT’s this year, solidifying my fate to not go to my dream school of UCLA.

This year was also the year of the epic abortion debate in AP Biology class (me being on the pro-life side). We won, with an argument comparing pro-choicers to Hitler (written by your very own, Kevin Kim). In retrospect, I wished I had that speech again so I could share it with you all. I even accidentally insulted a girl on team Pro-Life when I crudely said all people that get abortions are sluts and murderers (since she.. plot twist, ended up having an abortion herself in the past).

There was a girl I really liked in Junior Year, that upon seeing her one day randomly popping in my Choir classroom, I was infatuated with. That eventually turned into a crush, and I eventually pursued her – and got her to attend some VOC events, and also the Choir Banquet – where, when I offered her a balloon, she rejected. It was quite harsh, but I moved on from there (or did I?). This short paragraph doesn’t really communicate how much I was infatuated, but it was enough to be a highlight of 2007 in general.

So I’ve finally realized the point of having a Xanga. (my blog in 2007) And no, it’s not so that when I’m 100 years old, I can look back and grow reminiscent of all my past years as a teenager. I wouldn’t want to live something twice, I’d rather explore the future. So in a way that would theoretically make a Xanga pointless? WRONG! Just now, 7:40 PM. May 8th, 2007, I’ve realized it. The point of Xanga, at least in my opinion, is to display to the world who you are – because they might not always see you the way you see yourself. And also, it will help teach your children how flawed you are and help them learn from your past errors. (duh duh duh?).
Live life one day at a time. I wouldn’t normally want to revisit my past, but I’d rather make this blog super just to waste yours and potentially everyone else’s time. All throughout history, there have been clashes between the underdog and the villian; and everyone knows eventually the underdog will pull through. Surely, I will pull through to to become the person I was destined to be. People need to start realizing that life lessons in the past will shape them into the future. (blah blah blah).

And here we are: Sonny, me, Eva, and Chris at the Class of 2007 Graduation! They were all in Student League. I was not!

Pirates of the Caribbean was once again the top grossing movie of the year. Never seen it, never will, probably. Beyonce’s Irreplaceable was the number one song of the year. Boring.
